This 90 secs commercial, called a film by Nike’s official page has been making its rounds on social media, so AFT did a little investigation to learn more.
“You Can’t Stop Us” features a collective of some of the world’s most memorable athletes including Megan Rapinoe, LeBron James, Naomi Osaka, Eliud Kipchoge, Caster Semenya, Cristiano Ronaldo, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Serena Williams, Colin Kaepernick and Kylian Mbappé.
“Players may be back on the pitch, but we are not going back to an old normal. We need to continue to reimagine this world and make it better,”
“We have all these people in the streets, using their voices, and those voices are being heard. I ask people to be energized by this moment and not let up. I believe it’s everybody’s responsibility to advocate for change.”

This is the third film by Nike, and coincides with the US NBA’s return and is narrated by the US women’s football co-captain known for capturing the hearts of so many people around the world, wears the Golden Boot and holds the Golden Ball awards at the 2019 Women’s World Cup, topped off by Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year and a out and proud PRIDE spokesperson.
The split screen film features seamless edits using shots of various athletes moving in sync and combining over 4,000 pieces of footage.

And indeed, a message for all of us during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, is a message of strength in numbers.
