Tourists and locals invited for an iconic challenge circumnavigating world’s second tallest tower, Menara Merdeka 118 precinct on 18 January 2025Merdeka 118, formerly known as Menara Warisan Merdeka, KL 118 and PNB 118, is a 118-story megatall skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At 678.9 m tall, it is the second-tallest building and structure in the world, only behind the Burj Khalifa at 828 m.

The highly anticipated MOVE8 Walk-A-Hunt @ Merdeka 118 Precinct will take place on Saturday 18 January 2025. Go International Group Dotcom Sdn Bhd confirms the new date following consultation with supporting partners PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad and ThinkCity. Combining an innovative VR film to enable participants to join virtually, the hybrid 3KM walk brings participants along a cultural exploration circumnavigating the iconic surroundings of Kuala Lumpur’s Menara Merdeka 118, the world’s second tallest tower at 678.9-metres.

The MOVE8 Walk-A-Hunt @ Merdeka 118 Precinct has received a significant boost through the generous support of the Merdeka 118 Community Grants Programme Cycle 2, which is made possible by the collaboration between Permodalan Nasional Berhad Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad and Think City. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to enhancing the cultural vibrancy and economic vitality of Kuala Lumpur, particularly around the Merdeka 118 Precinct.

Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to join this unique scavenger hunt-style event, where they will explore the historical and cultural landmarks surrounding Merdeka 118 precinct. The event is designed to promote community engagement, healthy living, and an appreciation of the rich heritage of the area. Additionally, the inclusion of Virtual Reality (VR) elements in the event will provide participants with an immersive and modern experience, blending physical exploration with cutting-edge technology.

This campaign is a crucial step in the continued efforts to activate public spaces around Merdeka 118 precinct, making it not only a landmark but also a hub for community and cultural activities. With the support of the Merdeka 118 Community Grants Programme, the MOVE8 Walk-A-Hunt @ Merdeka 118 is set to be a memorable and impactful event that will bring people together from all walks of life.

In the spirit of sport inclusion, the walk is free for all individuals to attend however registration is essential for safety protocols. The Organisers have designed a ‘Fit for Good’ package for corporate companies with a corporate social responsibility (CSR) angle starting from MYR5,000 (US$2,000) for groups of 20 persons. Corporate participants will journey with someone from a local community followed by lunch and a souvenir bag purchased in support of local businesses in the area.
