TaiSPO 2021 attracted approximately 20,000 visits from 44 countries, with strong participation from U.S., Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and China. Global fitness trends and smart sporting business opportunities drive industrial development

The global fitness trend continues to drive the development of domestic and overseas fitness industries. One of the effects of the pandemic is a sharp increase in the demand for home fitness products. Taiwan’s sporting goods exports reached another historic peak at US$2.2 billion in 2020. Exports in the first half of 2021 showed a 106% YOY growth. This is the largest growth in the last decade which reflects a boom in the global home fitness market and the popularity of made-in-Taiwan sports equipment.

Taiwan’s sporting goods industry has emerged with smarter and more sustainable production processes as well as many innovative products. Therefore, “Smart Gym” will take part for the first time at TaiSPO to showcase latest products and trends from Taiwan. Major fitness equipment manufacturers joining the Smart Gym include Johnson, Dyaco, Tong Geng and so on. This is expected to cause electronics and textiles industries to form cross-industry alliances with Taiwan’s sporting and fitness industry.

A variety of activities will be held during the 2022 event period, including fitness industry related forums, smart sporting seminars, and new product experience activities, helping domestic and foreign buyers and related companies gain information on the latest products and future market trends. Furthermore, excellent products that best represent Taiwan’s innovative research & development and design ability are showcased, which show the latest concepts and highest quality products, attracting the attention of international buyers and providing exposure in international media.
